In the 1970’s, California Classics began manufacturing the first wooden sliding French door in the industry. No hardware manufacturer made an upscale enough lock for a wood sliding door, so they decided to produce a lock in China.  That original lock proved to be unreliable and would eventually fail.  FPL Door Locks then designed and manufactured for them our #558 Sliding Door Mechanism, thousands of which are still working 40 years later!

Even though FPL did not manufacture the original made in China locks, FPL did develop a solution to replace them when they fail: our #560 Governor Sliding Door Mechanism – Old California Classics Replacement.  It fits the existing milling on Old California Classics doors, so when the original lock fails, you can simply replace it with our #560 mechanism.

• Fits the Old California Classics milling to totally replace original malfunctioning locks
• Lever above Cylinder
  • Since the Old California Classics lock had the lever BELOW the cylinder, the original trim plates will NOT work on our #560 replacement mechanism and will have to be replaced
